We all have errands and tasks that we need to daily and weekly.

Many of us create lists with great intentions and aspirations of what we will accomplish!

The key to having success with a to-do list is to have a simple system in place.

The simple system will ensure that you will be able to complete your list and reach your goals each day and week!

If you don’t have a system that works for you two things can happen:

  1. You plan too much each day and you always feel behind
  2. You don’t plan well and you feel you have wasted the day

Not one system works for everyone. It is important that you find a system that speaks to you, and to how your mind works. A system that gives you not only the best chance of success, but something you will continue to use, AND may even enjoy!

To-Do List Ideas and Time Organization Tools

People love to use journals to write down thoughts and ideas.

Having a beautiful journal, with creative cover and easy to fill in charts, can help make daily and weekly planning more fun!

I was gifted this journal that helps with day to day scheduling and tracking of tasks.

It includes:

  • Daily task boxes
  • Menu tracking
  • Weekly thoughts
  • Monthly goals
  • Space for note-taking
  • Weekly reflection

When my daughter first saw the cover she was drawn to it straight away. She thought it was pretty and was interested in using it! I agreed with her!

It has a glossy thick cover and quality pages, it fits well into my work backpack if I want to take it with me out and about, or I can keep on my side table to write in at the end of the day.

If you are more of an electronic type, where you enjoy using your phone for tasks, this may be for you. Some apps you can use both on your computer and your phone!

Examples include:

  • Evernote
  • MinimaList
  • Mac Notes

There are a number of options that are free, and many that are low cost that offer more features. Features include how you can save your info, share with others, and tools to be more effective.

There are so many choices when it comes to using a to-do list. If you aren’t into using technology, calendars, or  journals, have a simple writing system may be perfect for you.

  • Notepad
  • Notebook
  • Whiteboard

You can use this printable for your personal tasks, as well as one on the fridge for the family’s schedule. Having it hanging in a high traffic area allows all family members to see it and add important events.

Using fun and colorful pens for a journal, list or white board make the task even more fun and creative!

You may need to try a couple to-do list methods before you find what works for you.

You know how you best think and work. Finding a system that will help you reach your goals AND remain consistent is key to success.

Nothing like the feeling of completing all you needed to complete for the day or week! If you find that you have higher expectations and add too much to your list, give yourself grace.

It’s ok to keep your list short. It’s better to add to a completed list for the day, instead of feeling like you failed.

Find what works for you and stick with it! Success!

Cheering you on to a more simple life!
